Blue Energy Motors has achieved a significant milestone in India’s commercial vehicle sector, with its fleet of alternative-fuel heavy-duty trucks collectively crossing 100 million kilometres of operations across the country.

The achievement highlights the increasing acceptance of cleaner freight transportation solutions as fleet operators look to improve efficiency, reduce emissions, and lower dependence on conventional diesel-powered vehicles.

According to the company, more than 1,400 Blue Energy Motors trucks are currently operating on major freight corridors nationwide. These vehicles have collectively helped prevent over 30,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, a reduction comparable to the carbon absorption capacity of nearly 1.2 million trees.

The milestone comes at a time when India’s logistics and transportation industry is undergoing a rapid transition. Rising fuel costs, stricter sustainability targets, and the country’s long-term decarbonisation roadmap are encouraging fleet operators to explore cleaner mobility alternatives.

Blue Energy Motors has built an integrated ecosystem around its electric and LNG-powered heavy-duty trucks, supported by intelligent fleet technologies, energy infrastructure, and a nationwide service network. The company said its LNG truck portfolio is designed for long-haul transportation requirements, with dual-tank variants capable of delivering a driving range of up to 2,400 kilometres on a single fill.

To support electric truck deployment, the company has also developed a corridor-based charging and battery-swapping network aimed at minimising charging-related downtime and addressing range concerns for commercial fleet operators.

Through its Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model, Blue Energy Motors seeks to reduce upfront investment requirements for customers while enhancing fleet productivity and operational efficiency. The company added that its battery-swapping technology enables battery replacement in under five minutes, helping maximise vehicle utilisation in high-mileage commercial applications.

Commenting on the achievement, Anirudh Bhuwalka, Founder and Managing Director of Blue Energy Motors, said the 100 million-kilometre milestone reflects the changing dynamics of India’s freight mobility sector.

“A few years ago, green-fuel trucking was still considered an emerging concept. Today, fleet operators are increasingly evaluating cleaner transportation solutions that deliver both sustainability benefits and strong business economics,” he said.

Bhuwalka noted that volatility in global energy markets has further strengthened the case for alternative-fuel commercial vehicles.

“Businesses that continue to rely entirely on diesel are becoming more vulnerable to fuel price fluctuations and supply-related uncertainties. Energy security, operational economics, and sustainability are no longer independent considerations. They are now part of a single strategic business decision. We believe the next five years will bring one of the most significant transformations in the history of India’s trucking industry,” he added.

As the commercial vehicle industry accelerates its shift toward cleaner transportation technologies, Blue Energy Motors said it aims to strengthen its role not only as a truck manufacturer but also as a long-term partner in advancing sustainable freight mobility across India.
