Greenfuel Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Lumax Auto Technologies Limited (LATL), has reinforced its commitment to India’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art ferrule-less tube and fitting manufacturing line at its Manesar facility. The new line was formally commissioned in the presence of senior leadership from Maruti Suzuki India, underscoring strong OEM collaboration in advancing indigenous automotive manufacturing.

As part of the current phase, Greenfuel has invested ₹25 crore, with plans to deploy an additional ₹50 crore over the next four to five years. The newly installed manufacturing line is designed to support around 100,000 vehicles, with commercial production being ramped up in stages based on customer qualification and market demand. This investment directly contributes to domestic capability development, skilled employment generation, and long-term industrial growth in line with national manufacturing priorities.

By localising ferrule-less tubes and fittings for CNG vehicle applications, Greenfuel is bringing globally validated technology to India. The torque-tightened, mass-production-ready system ensures uniform assembly torque, repeatable quality, and enhanced safety standards. Importantly, localisation delivers significant cost efficiencies by eliminating import duties, overseas freight expenses, and exposure to foreign-exchange fluctuations.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Deepak Jain, Director, Lumax Auto Technologies Limited, said,
“The localisation of this critical technology underscores our strong commitment to the Make in India agenda. By establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities domestically, we are accelerating technology transfer, strengthening supply chains, and enhancing India’s competitiveness in high-value automotive manufacturing.”

The commissioning of the Manesar facility marks a major step in localising a technology that was previously fully imported. It significantly strengthens India’s manufacturing ecosystem for automotive and alternate-fuel platforms, while reducing dependence on global supply chains.

Highlighting the long-term impact, Mr. Anmol Jain, Managing Director, Lumax Auto Technologies Limited, stated,
“This initiative lays the groundwork for scalable and sustainable growth. It enhances operational efficiency, deepens collaboration with OEM partners, and enables faster validation cycles, supporting the evolution of Indian manufacturing towards higher value-added capabilities.”

For OEMs and fleet operators, the Made-in-India solution offers tangible benefits, including lower total cost of ownership, quicker access to critical components, predictable pricing, and assured supply continuity—key enablers as the industry accelerates adoption of alternate-fuel technologies.

Mr. Akshay Kashyap, MD & CEO, Greenfuel Energy Solutions, added,
“We are the first and only company in India to localise ferrule-less tubes and fittings along with the underlying manufacturing technology. This Make-in-India solution offers ease of installation, reduced labour costs, and enhanced safety for the automotive industry. We have already commenced supplies to a leading OEM and are seeing strong interest from others.”

He further noted that the technology has been successfully deployed in Europe for over seven years by a leading German automotive brand. “Through our long-standing collaboration of nearly two decades with WEH Gas Tech, we have indigenised and optimised this technology for Indian operating conditions—combining global credibility with local engineering expertise.”

The new manufacturing line significantly enhances Greenfuel’s ability to meet OEM requirements with greater speed, consistency, and scalability, while reflecting Lumax Auto Technologies’ disciplined approach to expanding high-value manufacturing aligned with long-term industry demand.
