Recently as per the GNCAP’s updated protocols, the eligibility criteria for a 5-star rating have even become more stringent. And it’s the result of rising awareness and concern amongst consumers about safety as a parameter. A few aspects that need to be looked into by the car-selling brands are electronic stability control, pedestrian protection, side pole impact, and seat belt reminders.
Skoda’s Kushaq became the first SUV that got tested under the updated protocols and it comfortably aced its competition. With a score of 29.64 out of 34, it received a 5-star adult protection rating, and the score for child occupant protection, it scored a whopping 42 out of 49.
Let us quickly skim through what exactly came out as a result of the test. And that might invigorate a sense of confidence amongst prospective SUV buyers in India.
