JK Fenner (India) Ltd has announced the appointment of Jegapriyan Govindarajan as its new President, strengthening the company’s leadership team as it continues to expand its presence across automotive, industrial, mobility, railway, defence, and advanced technology sectors.
Based in Chennai, Govindarajan will report directly to Vikrampati Singhania, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of JK Fenner. His appointment comes as the company focuses on accelerating growth, operational excellence, innovation, and business transformation across its diverse portfolio.
Industry Veteran with Nearly Three Decades of Experience
Govindarajan brings close to 30 years of leadership experience spanning the automotive, industrial manufacturing, and engineering sectors. Throughout his career, he has successfully led business transformation initiatives, operational improvement programs, and growth strategies across multinational and Indian organizations.
Before joining JK Fenner, he served as Managing Director (India) at Garrett – Advancing Motion Technologies India. In this role, he was responsible for driving business growth and strengthening the company’s market position in India.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Tecumseh Products Company and Valeo Lighting Systems India, where he served as Managing Director and oversaw regional operations, profit and loss management, customer development, and strategic business expansion initiatives.
Strong Manufacturing and Operational Leadership Background
Earlier in his career, Govindarajan worked with Ingersoll Rand India as Plant Head, managing the company’s largest manufacturing facility located in Naroda, Ahmedabad.
He also held several leadership positions within the Anand Group at Gabriel India Limited, where he played a key role in manufacturing operations, greenfield expansion projects, and strategic joint ventures with global automotive suppliers such as Valeo and Mando.
In addition, he gained valuable industry experience through assignments at Tata Cummins Limited and Sundram Fasteners Limited, contributing to manufacturing excellence programs and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
Academic Credentials and Leadership Development
Govindarajan pursued Business Management with a specialization in Strategic Management and Marketing from XLRI Jamshedpur. During his academic tenure, he earned recognition as a topper in marketing subjects and served as Editor of the institute’s annual publication, Executive Excellence.
His combination of operational expertise, strategic leadership, and industry knowledge is expected to support JK Fenner’s ongoing efforts to strengthen competitiveness and drive sustainable growth.
