All India Transporters Welfare Association launches GreenGrid Forum, women-led initiatives, and AI-powered road safety measures

Mumbai | June 16, 2025 — In a major move toward greener logistics and enhanced driver welfare, the All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA) hosted a landmark meeting in Mumbai on June 6, 2025. The event marked the rollout of strategic initiatives aligned with the Government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, aimed at sustainable logistics, digital safety, and inclusivity.
GreenGrid Forum: Fast-Tracking EV Truck Adoption
One of the biggest highlights was the launch of the GreenGrid Forum, a dedicated platform to accelerate the adoption of electric trucks across India. Backed by e-FAST India and NITI Aayog-WRI, this initiative aims to build a collaborative ecosystem where fleet operators, EV stakeholders, and policymakers converge to drive sustainable transport solutions.
The forum will help tackle common industry challenges such as empty returns, low EV ROI, and underutilization by unlocking state and central incentives and reducing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for commercial EVs.
Women in Transport: AITWA Appoints First Chairperson for Women’s Wing
In a landmark move for inclusivity, AITWA introduced its Women’s Wing, appointing Reema Jogani as its first Chairperson. Initiated by General Secretary Abhishek Gupta, this wing already supports over 25 women entrepreneurs in logistics and aims to empower more women across the industry.
“This is a platform for collaboration and transformation. We are organising a Chai Pe Charcha with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji, where women leaders will present their ideas,” said Mr. Gupta.
Road Safety Gets a Tech Boost with Intangles Partnership
AITWA announced a new partnership with Intangles, a leader in AI-driven mobility solutions, to promote real-time driver assistance systems. These technologies will enable fleet operators to reduce road accidents and improve response to hazardous driving behaviors.
“Technology can and must be used to protect our drivers and road users,” emphasized Ashok Goyal, AITWA President.
Driver Welfare Strengthened via Highway Heroes+ Expansion
The association also expanded its well-known Highway Heroes+ (HH+) Programme in partnership with Lawyered, enhancing telehealth and legal aid services for truck drivers and their families. The program seeks to extend Ayushman Bharat green-channel access to every HCV driver in India.
“With our CSR registration, we now aim to scale these initiatives nationally,” stated Anjani Agarwal, Executive President, AITWA.
Industry Insights and National Rollout
The event saw a powerful keynote from Ashok Shah, CMD of V-Trans, who shared insights from his decades-long journey in logistics. His speech was widely applauded by attendees.
Encouraged by the success in Mumbai, AITWA plans to roll out these forums across India, raising awareness around EV adoption, inclusive logistics, and alternate fuels.
