Bosch and TSF Group Partner to Develop Advanced Air Systems for Commercial Vehicles

Bosch Limited has entered into a joint venture with Brakes India Private Limited and Wheels India Limited, both part of the TSF Group, to develop next-generation air system technologies for the commercial vehicle industry. The collaboration is aimed at addressing the growing demand for intelligent, software-driven vehicle systems as commercial vehicles become increasingly connected, automated, and technologically advanced.

The proposed venture will operate as a 50:50 partnership between Bosch and the TSF Group companies and is expected to begin operations by the end of 2026, subject to necessary regulatory approvals.

Focus on Software-Driven Commercial Vehicle Technologies

The new joint venture will focus on the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of advanced air system modules designed for future commercial vehicle platforms.

Its product portfolio will include technologies related to air compression, air processing, air suspension, and air parking brake systems. These solutions are expected to support the industry’s transition from conventional mechanical systems to electronically controlled and software-enabled vehicle architectures.

The company will be headquartered in Chennai, while global supply chain activities, including operations in India, will be jointly managed by Bosch, Brakes India, and Wheels India.

Addressing the Future of Commercial Vehicle Mobility

Commercial vehicle manufacturers worldwide are increasingly focusing on vehicle efficiency, safety, connectivity, and automation. Advanced air management systems are emerging as a critical component in enabling these next-generation vehicle capabilities.

By combining expertise in braking, suspension, electronics, and software technologies, the partners aim to create integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of truck, bus, and heavy-duty vehicle manufacturers.

Commenting on the development, Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited, said the partnership marks an important step in strengthening Bosch’s presence within the commercial vehicle segment.

He noted that the combined engineering, manufacturing, and technology capabilities of the participating companies would support the development of intelligent air system modules for advanced commercial vehicles in India and global markets.

Expanding Motion Management Capabilities

Sandeep Nelamangala, Joint Managing Director of Bosch Limited and President of Bosch Mobility India, highlighted the industry’s ongoing transition toward software-defined vehicle architectures.

According to him, the joint venture enhances Bosch’s commercial vehicle motion management portfolio while reinforcing its commitment to software-led mobility solutions and next-generation vehicle technologies.

The collaboration is expected to play a significant role in supporting future requirements for vehicle automation, predictive control systems, and enhanced operational efficiency.

Leveraging Expertise in Braking and Suspension Systems

Brakes India Managing Director Sriram Viji said the partnership would help accelerate the development of integrated system-level solutions for commercial vehicle manufacturers.

Drawing on its extensive experience in pneumatic braking technologies, the company aims to contribute advanced air braking solutions capable of meeting the demands of future mobility platforms.

Meanwhile, Srivats Ram, Chairman and Managing Director of Wheels India, noted that the company’s long-standing expertise in air suspension systems for buses and commercial vehicles would complement the joint venture’s objectives.

He added that the collaboration would support the development of advanced electronic air suspension technologies designed for both domestic and global markets.

The boards of Bosch Group, Bosch Limited, Brakes India, and Wheels India have approved the proposed transaction.

The companies believe the venture will help address increasing market demand for safer, more efficient, and highly automated commercial vehicles.
